Anncharlott Eschmann published several major articles on Mahima Dharma and other related issues. With the permission of Manohar publishers-to whom we owe our thanks-we reproduce here her most important article "Mahima Dharma: An Autouchthonous Hindu Reform Movement". The other texts are typed and handwritten manuscripts of Anncharlott Eschmann which were kept for long time in the archives of Heidelberg's South Asia Institute. Eschmann reworked a few of them in order to get them published. But then she suddenly disappeared... In order to express our respect and admiration we decided to publish them here, without editing, just as they were.
