In the seventies Dr. Anncharlott Eschmann undertook a pioneering research on Mahima Dharma in Orissa, being part of the first Orissa Research Project (ORP I) sponsored by the German Research Council. Since she has done an excellent and still valuable work and because of her early disappearance we would like to dedicate this webpage to her.

In commemorating her this updated website should serve as a source of information regarding the ongoing research on Mahima Dharma undertaken by a group of scholars German and Indian who work within the Orissa Research Project. It should further serve as a forum of exchange and communication regarding parallel or similar research done by scholars all over the world.
